LSS Cancer and Stem Cell group presents "Smoothened Cilial Translocation: Translating Mechanistic Understanding into a Novel Effective Strategy for Drug Discovery " (10/22/2010)

Dear All,

Cancer and Stem Cell subgroup of Longwood Scientific Salon (LSS) will have a group discussion on "Smoothened Cilial Translocation: Translating Mechanistic Understanding into a Novel Effective Strategy for Drug Discovery " (talk summary). The invited speaker is Dr. Yu Wang from Andrew P. McMahon's lab and Lee L. Rubin's lab in Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology, Harvard University. Dr. Wang recently got his Ph.D degree from Harvard University. During his Ph.D study, he initiated and developed a novel high content screen to identify new modulators of the Hedgehog signaling pathway. This novel approach has led to not only several patents and high profile publications but also a special grant supported by Harvard University. He will share his scientific findings as well as experience on taking advantage of rich resources that Harvard can provide and collaborating with labs in different disciplines. You will find a brief summary of his talk in the attachment. Please see the flyer for more details of this event.
