LSS Cancer / Stem Cell group presents "Introduction of Beijing Genomics Institute (BGI)" (1/22/2011)

Dear All,

Longwood Scientific Salon (LSS) Cancer / Stem Cell group will hold a group discussion on January 26th. The speaker of this talk is Dr. Lili Niu who is currently the application science manager of the main office in Boston, Beijing Genomics Institute (BGI). As a bioinformatics analyst, Dr. Niu was working at Dana Farber cancer institute for 2 years before she joined BGI Americas.

Over the last several years, BGI has become the largest genomic institute in Asia and one of the leading genome sequencing centers in the world. Several labs in Longwood area have established stable collaborations with BGI. During her talk, Dr. Niu will give a general introduction of BGI and BGI Americas, and several cutting-edge sequencing technique platforms from BGI. It is going to be very useful information for people who are interested in application of genomic sequencing techniques in both academic and industry areas.
