The Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS) is the national flagship programme forgenomic sciences in Singapore. The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) is the parent funding body for the GIS with a long-term commitment to create world-class R&D infrastructure.

The GIS seeks to use genomic sciences to improve public health and prosperity. As a centre for genomic discovery, the GIS pursues the integration of technology, genetics and biology to address high impact biomedical research. In particular, we apply genomic approaches to gain fundamental and translational insights into human diseases, infectious diseases, cancer biology and therapeutics, and stem cells and regenerative biology.

Faculty Positions in Computational and Systems Biology

We seek outstanding researchers with the potential to establish impactful, independent and creative research programs at the GIS. Candidates are expected to have significant experience in the analysis of genome-wide/cell-wide biological datasets and to have demonstrated exceptional originality and excellence in their work. Areas of particular interest include: Human Genomics, Regulatory Genomics and Epigenomics, Microbial Evolution and Metagenomics, Systems Biology and Cancer Genomics.

Faculty Positions in Biology

GIS is seeking established Principal Investigators to carry out internationally competitive research in a contemporary area of human diseases, infectious diseases, stem cells and regenerative biology, cancer stem cell biology or cancer therapeutics.
Requirements: Ideal candidates should have a PhD in biosciences and at least 5 years post-doctoral experience with a record of scientific achievement and demonstrated creative abilities. You must be comfortable working in a dynamic research organization and be able to balance multiple responsibilities. Strong communication skills and a
willingness to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment are critical for success in these roles.

Post-Doctoral Fellows

An internationally diverse research institute involved in a variety of research areas, with an emphasis on the use of genomic information and technologies, GIS is a key component of the country’s rapid and continuing drive to become the centre of biological and medical research. The genomics infrastructure at the GIS is utilized to train new scientific talent, to function as a bridge for academic and industrial research, and to explore scientific questions of high impact.
We invite applications for post-doctoral fellows in all areas of interest to our Institute.
Particular areas of interests include:
 Cancer Stem Cell Biology
 Cancer Therapeutics & Stratified Oncology
 Computational & Systems Biology
 Human Genetics
 Infectious Diseases
 Stem Cells and Regenerative Biology
 Translational Research

To apply for the above positions, please submit a CV, a statement of research interests and the names of three references by email to: gisrecruit@gis.a-star.edu.sg.
