2018年哈佛医学院华人专家学者联合会团队招新
Dear Chinese Community at Harvard Medical School,
The election for the 2018-2019 Harvard Medical School Chinese Scholars and Scientists Association (HMS-CSSA) executive committee will be held in the coming weeks.
We are now calling for candidates for new members, assistants, and volunteers.
HMS-CSSA is a non-profit, non-political organization registered at Harvard Medical School. It is the sole recognized Chinese organization at HMS by Harvard University and the Chinese consulate. It provides an interactive platform for Chinese scholars and scientists working and studying at Harvard Medical School and its affiliated institutes and hospitals. Its major goals are to promote career development of Chinese scholars and scientists at the HMS community, to serve as a bridge for better communication between China and the U.S., and also to provide a platform for networking, collaboration and career opportunities among our members.
According to the bylaws of HMS-CSSA, the board member election is held annually. The 2018-2019 HMS-CSSA board will be comprised of up to 17 members, and up to 15 assistants will also be elected this year. Both board members and assistants must currently be post-doctoral fellows, visiting scholars, Ph.D./M.D. students or employees who will stay at Harvard Medical School and its affiliated institutes and hospitals for at least 2 years. Responsibilities of HMS-CSSA team members include
1) attending monthly meetings to discuss relevant issues of the month,
2) organizing events for the best interest of HMS-CSSA community,
3) overseeing overall board activities.
Also, we are recruiting up to 20 volunteers, whose primary responsibility is to help organize activities.

哈佛医学院华人专家学者联合会（Harvard Medical School Chinese Scientists and Scholars Association，简称 HMS-CSSA）成立于2007年，是一个为哈佛医学院及其附属医院学习和工作的华人专家学者提供服务和支持的非盈利性组织。我们致力于为哈佛医学院及其附属医院的华人群体创造一个集学习、合作、职业发展和社交于一体的平台。每年举办的特色活动包括大型学术年会、院长论坛、创业沙龙、创业论坛、招聘会和节日聚会等。

● 大型学术年会
2018年的学术年会邀请到了哈佛医学院院长 George Daley, Rudolf Jaenisch, Xiaoliang Xie, WilliamPu, Wenyi Wei, Jiahua Wang, Xiang-Dong Fu, Xi He, Jean Zhao, Nathanael Gray 等多位知名教授，吸引了500多人参会，会场座无虚席，反响热烈。
● Frontier Symposium
2017-2018年度分别举办了以Deciphering the Genome, Metabolism & Disease, Gene Editing 为主题的学术研讨会，邀请到多位来自国际顶尖实验室的青年科学家分享最新研究进展，进行学术讨论，旨在为青年科学工作者提供展示自己学术成果的舞台，促进哈佛医学院及各附属医院的科学家之间的交流与合作。

● 学术人生
不定期邀请知名学者为广大的青年学者们提供科研心得体会和建议。2017年邀请到了耶鲁大学陈列平教授跟大家分享了他在美国科研的心路历程，以及发现PD-1/PDL-1在肿瘤免疫作用中的有趣经历，为青年学者提供了宝贵的经验。
● 院长论坛
2016年12月至今共举办十多场院长论坛系列活动，去年有幸邀请到了上海交大医学院院长陈国强院士，上海生化所所长刘小龙教授，复旦大学代谢与整合生物学研究院李蓬院士，厦门大学副校长韩家淮院士等知名学者在哈佛医学院给华人学者们做了精彩的报告。
● 招聘宣讲
2017年9月开始至今共举办了十几场招聘会，为海外华人学者回国开展科研事业提供了最直接的信息对接平台。先后接待了中山大学孙逸仙纪念医院，天津医科大学、先声药业、首都医科大学、上海生化所、复旦大学遗传所、同济大学、中南大学、厦门大学等在内的招聘团队。
● 创业沙龙
2016年9月至今共举办了包括“与启明创投聊聊生物医药投资那些事儿”、“创业经验谈”等7场创业沙龙活动，创业沙龙活动反响热烈，为哈佛医学院有志创业的小伙伴们提供了一个和投资人、工业界人士、创业者互相交流学习的平台。
● 节日聚会、龙舟赛、跑团
每年举办新年聚餐、龙舟赛、夏季BBQ、中秋国庆聚餐等大型活动，每周举办跑团活动，帮助海外的华人学者结识志同道合的朋友，让海外留学科研之旅不再孤单。
